How Can I Prevent Kitchen Clogs?
Fats or greases repeatedly poured or washed down a sink drain are often the cause of kitchen clogs. Fatty deposits cool and solidify along the walls of your pipes. After a while, these deposits can trap other debris slowing your drain. Before long, your pipes could be clogged completely.
To prevent kitchen clogs, avoid letting certain foods go down the drain. Common troublemakers are banana peels, coffee grounds, eggshells and potato skins. Expanding foods — such as rice, bread and pasta — should go in the bin. As for fats and grease, pour them into a sealable container and throw the container in the rubbish.
Add a capful of Mr Muscle® drain cleaner to your drains each month as another preventative measure to keep blockage at bay.
